When it comes to habanero peppers there are a number of them that fall under this category. Orange is one such type of habanero and is used to pair with mango, cantaloupe, mandarins and soo... pumpkin! Can't wait for fall!
Scotch Bonnet are orange and a variety of the same species but they are on the higher side of the Scoville Heat Unit scale. We like scotch bonnet and always try to separate them from the other orange habaneros when we receive a shipment from the Caribbean if we can't source locally.
They can be sweet with earthy undertones, offering moderate heat to just plain hot!
They may not look it but these bad boys range from 150,000 - 350,000 (SHU) and many will tell you their red cousin is hotter but we don't always agree if the red is not a savina.
All flavours will land at 4 on the Ring of Fire scale
Can be hotter than red habaneros
